Your Coach – Greg Schnackenberg

As a Corporate Director, Greg led high-performing teams that streamlined and consolidated inefficient business practices to lower costs and improve productivity.  He has now integrated his approach to business change with his passion for fitness and youth athletics to develop his programs for personal change and growth.  Years of experience testing various workout programs and diets along with his study of exercise science, physiology and nutrition has helped him develop his systems for strength, conditioning and weight loss.

The Approach

While the approach will be systematic in terms of the program and the discipline – the single most important element to your program is you!  You are unique and your workout program should reflect your style and interests as well as any current physical limitations.  This is not to say that you won’t do things that you don’t particularly enjoy – as the second most important element is discipline – but your program should help you achieve your goals within your tolerance for change.

Change

Change isn’t easy for large corporations and it isn’t much easier for people who want to change their appearance, feel better and perform better.  As with business, it takes time, discipline and focused effort to achieve the results you’re looking for and I will be there to coach you through this process.   I understand busy schedules – we will work hard and make the most of your workout time!

Why Choose Fit to Perform?

Credibility is an important component of how you select a professional coach for yourself or your family.  Greg researched the industry to determine which certifications had the most rigorous requirements and selected and earned the credentials of the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA).  The NSCA personal trainer certification is widely recognized as among the best and the NSCA CSCS credential requires a college degree along with extensive knowledge of exercise science, bio-mechanics, physiology and applied training program development. As a Certified Functional Movement Screen Professional, Greg has been trained to interpret the results of a standard 7-step test process that identifies dysfunctional movement patterns so that they can be corrected early in your fitness program.

Greg hasn’t stopped there – he continues to invest time and resources into developing his knowledge around human movement, corrective exercise techniques, nutrition and youth athletics.  He is a member of the IDEA Health & Fitness Association and subscribes to (and reads!) many industry publications and journals on all aspects of exercise and nutrition. Staying current on new developments in fitness is a priority for his professional development and your benefit.

Personal

Greg is married with two very active children. In addition to his professional activities, Greg is a softball coach and strength & conditioning coordinator for the Class A Central Jersey Lightning 10U and 12U programs and he coaches baseball and basketball in local leagues. He leads winter softball camps and manages an aggressive schedule for his children that includes Piano and Karate lessons, softball pitching lessons for his daughter and Cub Scouts for his son. He and his family enjoy traveling and outdoor activities in their time off together.
